4th September / 1 Elul - Introduction to our 2024 Appeal

As the sacred month of Elul approaches — a time for reflection and gearing up for the High Holy Days—we wanted to reach out with a message that's close to our hearts and, we believe, resonates deeply with our community's needs.

Elul is traditionally a time for teshuvah — a time to return to the path, reflect, and renew our commitments to ourselves, each other, and G-d. It's a period for intense introspection, acknowledging where we've faltered, and striving to become the best versions of ourselves.

After a tumultuous and uncertain 2023/24 for Jewish communities everywhere, this Elul invites us to look outward — to see the needs of our fellow congregants, neighbours, and the broader community. 

To strive to make the Temple Sinai community the best version of itself.

And it is no great mystery how to achieve that. We do it, as our community always has through time: by looking after one another.
