Preparing your kid for her Bat Mitzvah as an out of town (aka, Country) member is no small feat. But, Temple Sinai’s has taken “looking after one another” to the next level. Members of the Ritual Committee and our own Palmerston North-based Hebrew Teach, Helen Chong have helped my daughter, Eleanor, learn Hebrew, her Torah portion and prepare to lead a Shabbat service all on her own.
I cannot express enough how much the generosity of spirit and love of Judaism from these folks means to my family. Without a doubt, we could not do this without these members who are generous with their time and their love of Jewish traditions.
